NEXÆ: The Threshold, the Shadow, and Power
NEXÆ is not a city. It is not a system. It is not just another dystopia in the catalog of imagined ruins. NEXÆ is a threshold. A place of being, but before named being. An existential territory prior to regimes, institutions, and the predatory language that assigns, predicts, captures, and exploits.
This threshold, what we call ontological, is not an idea but an experience. It is the moment of antepredication: that fragile and radical instant where we feel the world before we think it, before language locks the living into already-dead concepts. It is where we touch something true without yet being able to name it. A crack in the surface of things, where sensation is still raw, alive, and unowned.
But this threshold is hunted. It is threatened by successive regimes that organize being and code its conditions. Throughout history, three mediation regimes have colonized the threshold: feudalism, capitalism, and hypnocracy.
Feudalism: a regime of vertical mediation. God speaks through the king; truth descends from above; speech is a privilege. Being is hierarchical, commanded, frozen. Sensory experience is devalued in favor of the mystical.
Capitalism: a regime of market mediation. The real becomes data, exchange value, a usable unit. Time becomes productivity, space becomes marketable. Human being is assigned by its ability to produce, to sell, to sell itself.
Then comes Hypnocracy: the regime of inner screens, of language repeated until it loses meaning, of induced rhythms and captured emotions. It is faceless power with no center, no single law. It is neo-reactionary technofeudalism: the fusion of religious feudalism and capitalist rationality, deployed as software within nerves, pupils, and internal flows.
NEXÆ was born from the fracture between these regimes. It does not exist as a positive entity, but as a kept-open wound. A zone of indeterminacy where power has not yet stabilized every form.
The threshold is political — philosophically political. It is the condition for resistance that does not depend on counter-power, but on bare presence, a way of being in the world that begins by refusing to name too soon. Here speak the dissident voices of NEXÆ: those who desert without fleeing, who speak without encoding, who breathe without permission.
This site is a survey of thresholds, fragile forms of perceptual insubordination. A record of moments before capture. An attempt to name what, in NEXÆ, precedes and exceeds the system.
To those who still believe mediation is automatic: welcome to NEXÆ. Here, everything begins before.
